1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes what data may be processed when using AussieDB.dog, an international database for dogs, pedigrees, kennels and canine records.

2. Data we process

• Account data: username, email address and password hash. Plain-text passwords are not stored.
• Dog and pedigree data: names, registration or microchip numbers, birth dates, height, weight, colour, tail, dentition and parentage.
• Kennel and public contact data: kennel name, country, breeder name, website and information voluntarily published by users.
• Canine records: health tests, genetic information, certificates, photos, show results and sports results.
• Technical data: session, language preference, security actions and technical logs. A hash of a technical IP identifier may be stored for platform security.

3. How data is used

• to create and protect user accounts;
• to publish and manage dog and kennel records;
• to generate pedigrees and canine calculations;
• to process uploaded photos, certificates and test results;
• to send service messages, including account confirmation and password recovery;
• to prevent abuse and protect the platform.

4. Cookies and sessions

The platform uses necessary technical cookies, including the session cookie used for authentication and form security, and the lang cookie used to remember the selected language.

The CSRF token is stored within the server session and is not a separate advertising or analytics cookie. We do not sell personal data to advertising networks.

5. Account deletion and the public archive

Users may delete their account through the account settings or by contacting info@aussiedb.dog. Account data is deleted and the connection between the user and published records is removed.

Dog, kennel and pedigree records, photos, test results and other materials previously published in the public archive may remain without a connection to the deleted account. This helps preserve the historical integrity of pedigrees.

6. Service providers and transfers

The platform may use hosting, backup and technical email providers. Such providers receive only the data necessary to provide their services. Their infrastructure may be located in other countries.

7. Retention and security

Account data is retained until the account is deleted or for as long as necessary for platform operation and security. Public archives and technical logs may be retained longer. Deleted data may remain temporarily in backups until the relevant backup cycle is completed.

The platform uses access controls, password hashing, CSRF protection, protected sessions and security logs to help protect data.
